Discover the benefits of booking an aromatherapy treatment
Hello, my name is Nic. I live in Gloucester with my husband, 2 boys and 3 cats.

I trained as an Aromatherapist after my Mum died of metastatic breast cancer in 2018. I wanted to be able to support people facing complex health issues in deeper ways than just providing physical relief for their symptoms. Using essential oils in relaxation treatments brings a whole other dimension to the nourishment and restoration received. I use organic plant oils, made with love by growers who are paid fairly, and whole heartedly believe the quality of oils we use impacts our healing at more than a physical level. We are nature and deserve the best. I am a Weleda Advocate and trust the balancing and restorative benefits of Weleda products over all others.
I am a certified Oncology Massage Therapist and worked at the Sue Ryder hospice in Cheltenham for 2 years. I am also a HEARTS process practitioner, a technique developed for use withpalliative patients at the Christie Oncology hospital in Manchester. I am able to offer a wide variety of relaxation options with or without the use of oils, skin to skin contact or the person people able to move. I work with private clients in my home treatment room in Kingsholm or in their own home if health issues makes it difficult for them to travel or mobilise.

What a relaxation treatment might look like for you
For a lot of people an aromatherapy treatment involves lying on a massage couch to have the physical aches and pains soothed out of their body. They may lie on their front or back and alongside the physical relief of the bodywork there is a mental letting go and sometimes an emotional release. A silent treatment is a beautifully restorative experience. For others chatting throughout their session is what they need (relaxation opens up conversations that may have been fearfully held in). Whatever it looks like for you the benefits are likely a deep feeling or relaxation (sometimes falling asleep), a sense of calm (the mind switching off) and a gentle lifting of the spirit as you move into your day.
For people with health issues that restrict their movement or for someone who is managing a palliative diagnosis a treatment is more likely to be chair based. Massage to the hands or feet is deeply soothing, enabling the mind to slow down and for the nervous system to reset. A hand massage is a simple, non-invasive way to experience the power of gentle touch. Gentle strokes convey comfort, warmth, security and care at a time when human contact may be limited. Massage has been shown to reduce anxiety and agitation, relieve tension and increase blood flow and circulation. I have a portable face cradle which enables people to have a back/neck/shoulders massage without needing to lie down. I have a recliner chair that enables people to feel like they are lying down to relax without the ordeal of climbing on to a couch. Soaking the feet has a really powerful effect for drawing energy down from a whirling mind. Foot massage is very grounding and can bring pain relief to other parts of the body.
